One of the striking features of acne is a greasy skin and there is a relationship between the severity of acne and the amount of sebum produced. However, not all patients with seborrhoea have  acne, while patients whose acne has regressed continue to have seborrhoea. A seborrhoea is also seen in patients with postencephalitic  Parkinsonism and in acromegaly but acne is not usually a  feature  of such conditions.
