Natural history of acne

Acne is a condition with a widespread - perhaps almost universal  - incidence, predominantly among young adults.  Genetic, racial,  hormonal,  dietary  and environmental factors have been implicated in its development, while it is clear that the psychological implications of acne may be severe.
