Ovulation Symptoms

Many different symptoms are experienced by women when ovulation is taking place. Some of these popular symptoms include tenderness of the breasts, an increased sex drive, bloating of the abdomen, an increase in temperature, a change in the consistency of cervical mucus and heightened senses.

Breast Tenderness

This can in actual fact be an indication of ovulations or one of the early signs of pregnancy. Breast tenderness is more likely to be from the ovulation process if you are in the middle of your cycle, due to the hormones that are created during this time.

Increased Sex Drive

Having an increase in your sex drive is due to the make-up of the female species in general. It is during the ovulation period that a woman is the most fertile and whereby the likelihood to conceiving is much higher. Our bodies evolutionary process has created an increase in your sex drive to enable our species to create reproduction.

Abdominal Bloating

This bloating along with pain can be caused by the process of ovulation which is happening inside of the body. It is when the egg travels through the fallopian tube that you may feel some discomfort. Spotting is also a possibility in some women, after the egg has been released.

Increase in Temperature

The increase in temperature can occur due to the different hormones being activated in the body during the process of ovulation.

These are just some of the different symptoms which can give confirmation that the ovulation process is taking place, or is about to take place. However, these symptoms are not always experienced by all women or all cycles. Therefore, it is important to use as many indicators as possible in order to predict your ovulation, paying special attention to an ovulation test.
