Any of the C19 steroids having a keto group on the 17 carbon, usually denoting the urinary metabolites of androgenssecreted by the adrenal cortex and gonads. They are accumulated and excreted abnormally in certain adrenal cortical ancovarian tumors and congenital adrenal hyperplasia.
