Malformed posterior fossa structures resulting from caudad traction and displacement of the rhombencephalon caused bytethering of the spinal cord; may or may not be accompanied by spina bifida and associated anomalies such asmeningomyelocele; weak evidence of autosomal recessive inheritance.
